There are in excess of 245,737 acres of arable land in The Bahamas. Some of the major acreages are located as follows:

The Minister of Agriculture (Incorporation) Act 1993 confers upon the Minister responsible for Agriculture power to acquire, hold and lease for a term not exceeding twenty-one years the following acreages of agricultural lands:
- 13,869 acres on North Andros
- 11,737 acres on Abaco.
- 10,642 acres on Grand Bahama.
The Minister is also responsible for tracts of agricultural land in New Providence in the following areas:
- Coral Harbour Allotments.
- Cow Pen Road Allotments.
- Millar’s Road Allotments Phase I.
- Millar’s Road Allotments Phase II.
- Bonefish Pond Allotments.
- Lazaretto Property
- Carmichael Village Allotments.
- Golden Isles Allotments.
- Hardship Allotments.
- Marshall Road Allotments.
