In response to the public request, the Ministry of Youth Sport and Culture offers dance and drum classes to the public. Persons over the age of 18 who are interested in taking dance and drum classes during the year may register with the Department of Culture for these classes. Adult Dance classes are conducted at The National Dance School of The Bahamas in New Providence.
Applicant must be a Bahamian citizen or resident.
- All persons interested in attending adult dance classes may collect application forms at any of the addresses outlined below.
- The applicant must fill out and submit the application form to any of the addresses outlined below.
- Once the application is received, the Department of Culture will process the application and generate payment slips. Payment slips detail the cost and location of the class in addition to the due date for payments.
- Payment dates are governed by the scheduled class time selected by the applicant
- For Fall classes payment is due between Sept 1 – 30th
- For Spring Classes payment is due between Dec 1 Jan 15th
- For Summer Classes payment is due between March 19th – 8th April
- Applicants will be contacted by the department informing them when payments slips are ready. Applicants may only collect the payment slip at the National Dance School. Registration and Tuition fees are payable once payment slips are generated.
- Once payment is made, the applicant is added to the class enrolment list and is then free to attend classes.
Note: The summer term is reserved for existing students; new students may only register during the fall or spring terms.

In the event that the applicant has a medical condition that may be impacted by the activities of the class, the Department of Culture also requests a copy of any medical documents that will guide their response in the event of an emergency.
Applications are processed within a period of 1 – 4 weeks.
The registration period for the Fall Term is June 1 – August 31st • The registration period for the Spring Term is Sept 1st – Nov 30th Applications received after the registration period will be processed for the next available class.
There are no fees associated with this service.
