Questions ?
Reclassification can only take place between scales which are basically on par with each other. Reassessment of salary may occur when an officer provides proof of qualification(s) and or experience that would allow his salary to advance to a higher point (step) in the salary scale.
One may be considered for reclassification if:
- First appointed as trainee on scale I, in addition to serving for one (1) year in the post.
- Additional qualification(s) have been obtained which merit reclassification and there is the need for the officer to perform in that capacity.
- The officer performs the duties of a post other than his substantive post and has the requisite qualification(s) to be reclassified thereto.
- The officer must submit a letter of request and supporting documents (if necessary) to immediate supervisor.
- The supervisor must endorse the request before forwarding to the PS for endorsement.
- Note: The PS must endorse the request before it can be processed by HR.
- The agency will submit a recommendation of reclassification to the Department of Public Service.
- The Department of Public Service processes the recommendation and would advise the agency accordingly.
- Once the reclassification is successful, the officer will receive a letter which conveys the post, agency assignment and salary.
There is no form necessary for this process.
The applicants must supply the original documents along with one copy of academic qualifications (where applicable).
Reclassifications are made based on the needs of the Public Service. There are no deadlines associated with this service. Not Applicable
