Bahamian drivers in need of a licence for driving abroad can apply for an International Driver’s Licence. This licence is an authorized translation of a Bahamian Driver's Licence into many languages. This licence is valid for one year.
You should be 17 years or older, have a Bahamian Driver’s Licence and intend to drive while visiting or residing in a foreign country.
The following steps are required when applying for an International Driver’s Licence:
- Complete and present Application Form and other supporting documents to the Road Traffic Department Drivers Licence Unit.
- Upon verification of information, the Clerk will issue a bill.
- Upon payment, the Cashier will issue a receipt of payment for the Clerk to process and issue the licence
