Private Sector employers in The Bahamas can seek assistance with filling their vacancies from the Department of Labour.  The Department’s Employment Exchange Section acts as a liaison between job seekers and employers, matching job vacancies to suitable job seekers, and even provides the use of its facilities for the conduct of interviews.

Employers must be operating in the private sector in The Bahamas.

1. Contact the Employment Exchange Section of the Department of Labour.
2. Provide information about the existence of the vacancy and all of its vacancies – the name of the company, contact person, telephone and fax numbers, position title, job description, and salary.  
3. The Employment Exchange Section would then advise the employer of the existence of suitable candidates, and the employers would provide guidance on how the rest of the recruitment process should proceed.  

Please note that this may be done in person at the offices of the Employment Exchange or by telephone.  
The employers must advise the Employment Exchange Section when vacancies are filled.
